Why I wrote Offtrack
I was inspired to write Offtrack by the dynamics of the Formula 1 teams and drivers more than anything else. When I started watching the sport, something about the fact that only 20 athletes partook in it, not to mention having driver pairings that could be hit or miss, caught my attention. Learning more about the stories of women who came before and raced a Grand Prix, or the women who are currently trying to get into the sport and hitting barrier after barrier, was a catalyst for writing Diana, the heart of Offtrack.
What I do when I’m not writing
Some of my absolute favorite outlets for creativity are dance and baking. While I’d advise exercising caution if you go to taste one of my baked goods, I’ve danced competitively and recreationally for going on fourteen years! I’m also a full-time college student (since 2022). Recently I’ve picked up hiking and spending more time in nature. I also love making a good friendship bracelet – forward and backward knots till the end! You can also catch me watching F1, but I’ve now become more enamored with soccer – I’ll rarely miss a Madrid match. I believe my greatest strength is the balanced-flavored mocktails I bring to the function.
